September, 29 1941 Dear Pauline

San Diego
Sept. 29 Monday Night
Dear Pauline,
I came back from Los Angles this noon. I went up there Saturday to Woody's & Pauline. We went over to Lynn & Myrtle new home Saturday night & did not get to bed until 5am you know we must have had a good time ha.
I received your letter & snap shot of your sister’s family’s Friday, thanks very much. They are very nice. I am having a photograph made I will send you one next week. I mailed you the watch Friday, insured. My precious I am longing when the day we ca be together, I like you more each day & think about you every day. Honey I have never been drunk in my life and I don’t ever intend to be. For I never drank in whiskey until 2 years ago and I feel 100% better now. And I drink a little when I go up to Woody's & Pauline and I like you because you drink same too, and I like you because you smoke a cigarette. And I like you because you kiss me the first time you was me. If you had opposed to all this you would have been just another “gal” in my life. You are a good sport and you will make the best pal in the world and the only “gal” in my life when you become my life partner. I will gain the most precious thing in life that is a broad mind pal.
It will be just like going to heaven when we come in to home port and I can see you. We will never let our honeymoon end honey.
I hope you won’t have to go to work until I go out when you come out here.
Your Romeo,
Abb
