Twain’s wise words lead us to TetonTrekker’s joyful January, where beans reign supreme despite a hubby-and-son-led legume boycott—plus, a smoky cookbook and mac and cheese standoffs. Happy Bean Year!

Mac and cheese has a long history, with its modern version tied to the US. Thomas Jefferson played a role in popularizing it. Over time, it became a comfort food and a household staple, with numerous variations. The post also contains a personal recipe recommendation and ends with warm wishes.

This simple recipe is a refreshing surprise with only 3 ingredients. It was sort of a first time success, I know I wanted to try the combo of the key lime and St-Germain in a margarita, so I made a cocktail with equal parts of each and it was perfection!
This is a super easy and very popular dish at pot lucks. It goes great with any dish. I would double or triple as needed for a crowd.
